Next Payments targets growth with TNS partnership
ATM specialist Next Payments has selected
Transaction Network Services (TNS) to
help launch its Retail ATM and Cash X-Press
products across Australia and New Zealand.
Founded last year, Next Payments is using
TNSLink to manage its ATM communications
and oversee the secure, high-speed delivery
of transactions from hundreds of locations.
Mark Beddoe, General Manager – Payments at
Next Payments, said: “ TNS is playing a significant
role in helping us to establish our business. Our first
challenge was to make our initial 40 ATMs live in a
very tight timeframe and TNS was able to achieve
this undertaking quickly with impressive support
during the process. Since then we have expanded
our ATM estate across both Australia and New
Zealand and will shortly be launching our new Cash
X-Press service, which will allow merchants to regain
transactions they will lose when the new federal
ATM legislation comes into force in February.
“ TNS’ high-speed and feature-rich TNSLink
solution augments our own service to customers
by delivering a range of additional benefits, such
as near real time status and activity monitoring,
and 24x7x365 helpdesk support. TNS’ flexibility
and scalability makes them an ideal partner for
us as we target further growth and expand our
ATM estate across Australia and New Zealand.”
TNSLink is a fully managed, PCI-compliant
communications solution for ATMs, POS terminals
and kiosks. It works with a wide array of dial, serial
and IP customer terminals, and supports wired
and wireless broadband access methods.
John Banfield, Senior Vice President and
General Manager of TNS’ Payments Division,
Asia Pacific, said: “ We’re delighted to have been
selected by Next Payments to play such a crucial
part in helping to establish its business.
“ T he inaugural year is a critical time for any new start-
up, so implementation, service delivery and support
will be paramount and this is where our reputation
is strongest. We have both the technology and team
in place to deliver quickly and cost-effectively, while
also being adaptable and flexible so we can meet
Next Payments needs now and in the future.”
TNSLink simplifies day-to-day operations by removing
the need to work with multiple vendors. Using industry
standard secure sockets layer (SSL) and virtual private
network (VPN) technology combined with advanced
encryption algorithms, such as AES, TNSLink includes
3G and GPRS wireless back-up options to ensure
maximum uptime. The solution utilizes the highly
resilient PCI DSS certified TNS backbone network
which handles billions of transactions each year
from ATMs and POS devices around the world.
With a strong heritage and more than 20 years of
expertise, TNS now provides services in more than 60
countries across Europe, the Americas and the Asia
Pacific regions. Through its broader payment solutions
offering, TNS connects over a million merchants
and retailers to the world’s leading banks, acquirers
and processors, enabling secure, efficient and cost-
effective delivery and processing of payments.

The solution allows these businesses to operate
literally from anywhere without the hassle and

divestIT managing director, Nigel Heyn, said the
new system was a secure, very cost-effective
solution that allows people to log in to their

any internet provider, wherever they are.
“ T his means as long as people can access a device or
computer with an internet connection they can access
their company data and applications safely without
the hassle and expense of managing hardware,
software and ongoing maintenance,” Mr Heyn said.
“Our client’s cloudDesktop is hosted with
us, in our secure Australian Data Centre (the
cloud), with our team of expert technicians
looking after everything around the clock.”
Mr Heyn said the divestIT cloudDesktop gives
clients the same experience as being at their office
desktop PC, regardless of the application in use.
“All of your applications such as Microsoft Office,

small businesses up. “cloudDesktop is particularly
suitable for small and medium businesses because
very often they don’t have the time or funds to
develop class-leading, custom IT solutions.
“Our solution takes care of all the important
functionality which removes the business owners
from the hassle of having to maintain servers with
secure remote access, antivirus management
and the need to have a backup system in
place for data redundancy and security.”
divestIT has been provisioning cloud computing
before the term “cloud” was used to describe how we
implemented a service, and we have over a decade
of experience with a proven record of technical
engineering, service excellence and reliability.

on a system that you are familiar with.”
Each cloudDesktop automatically includes 10GB
of storage per user, plus the latest Microsoft
Office Suite and Microsoft Exchange email and
calendar sharing, all ready for immediate use.

‘Change-room mirrors’ create buzz for Kellogg’s campaign
To give shoppers the inspiration to get fit and
fabulous after the festive season, Kellogg’s
teamed up with oOh! Media to run a campaign
that shows Australians their healthy potential.
Ten retail shopaLite panels across the Eastern
Seaboard have been converted to give shoppers
the opportunity to view their reflection wearing
a Kellogg’s Special K inspirational training top.
Marketing director of Kellogg’s , John Broome, said
the special builds will achieve cut-through at a crucial
time when people are setting New Year’s resolutions.
“ Involving our audience is a fun way to build
awareness and a buzz around the brand,” John said.
“ Having these ads in shopping centres
enables shoppers to act on their intention to
fulfil their New Year’s resolution of starting
a healthy lifestyle by being active.
oOh!’s head of production, John Purcell, said the
concept, which was developed in collaboration
with Kellogg’s creative team and oOh!, was simple
yet effective.“ T his innovative execution of our
retail panels really puts shoppers in the advert
and creates a new level of connection between
the product and consumers,” Mr Purcell said.
The ‘change room mirror’ effect was achieved
by surfacing the back wall of the retail panel with
a mirror and suspending a custom mannequin
wearing the Special K inspirational training top .
